Word Flow

Word Flow

What to do with two words, chosen blind, picked at random: Stretch and Fast? What to do with two words which don't speak to me; which give me a headache?

A stretch can release of course, can open and relax, as in yoga, as in a yawn. But, fast? What's in fast? A fast…. too fast? Fast is too fast to breathe, too fast to rest, or think. What to do with a fast stretch? How to make the words stretch, how to move them on the page, how to send them off along the line, fast or not? Yes… that's it; it's starting now, the words are picking up pace… skipping along the line, free of my thoughts about them, free of the headache. They are running now, laughing, stretching out as children in a race, jumping over one another, reaching their arms out to the finish line, where they fall over themselves, out of breath and not caring who won.

I am the bystander, seeing the words flow, and the children race. I am watching the words run.

I am the smile.
