Hello,

Welcome to Thousand Wing Press. I’m Zoe. Originally from Britain, I’ve lived and worked in many countries. In 1999 I moved to the Netherlands to live with my partner, a Dutchman, and Amsterdam has been my home ever since.

My professional life has always revolved around education and contemplation. For many years I taught English as a foreign language in France and Belgium, where I also organized conferences and seminars for international management training companies. I have also facilitated workshops, led retreats and given talks on the contemplative life in Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK.

Whatever job I’ve been doing, there has always been a creative, contemplative inquiry going on. Meditation together with writing and photography have been ways of digesting and integrating experience, and of helping me dive more deeply into the landscape of consciousness - the soul space. I’m not attached to any particular religious tradition, but have been inspired by the study and practice of Advaita Vedanta and Kashmir Shaivism.

Thousand Wing Press is the imprint, the publishing hub; the place where the work becomes integrated and shared. The Dutch word for “publish”, uitgeven, literally means “to out give”. This out-giving is naturally accompanied by an inward turning. As with the ebb and flood tides, the flow is sustained by the pulse of life; a cosmic intelligence. There’s no efforting, only joy, generosity, and an inherent wisdom at source, which is infinitely patient, and heedless of any returns on investment.

I hope this blog inspires you to explore new places in and around you.
